At the end of the application there is are some additional options that enable the user to calculate some additional elements:

Application is made user-friendly. The calculation of the savings does not require any technical knowledge of computer science, energy or building physics. You only need to know the dimensions of your building.

There are three steps to the final calculation.

The obtained results can be printed in PDF format.

### Basis of the calculation

Data on basic conditions, savings and CO2 emissions are derived from the **Regulation on methods of energy savings among final consumers** (hereinafter referred as Regulation), issued by the Ministry of Economy , published in UL4/2010.

The amount of thermal transmittance U in old, uninsulated houses is as follows:

- 1,2 W/m2K for the exterior wall (facade)
- 1,5 W/m2K for the floor towards an unheated basement
- 1,0 W/m2K for ceiling towards an unheated attic
- 3,0 W/m2K for doors and windows
- 1,5 W/m2K for the floor towards ground
- 1,8 W/m2K zfor the roof toward surrounding area (in the case of the mansard)

ZTo calculate the emissions and their reduction you have to consider the following instructions from the Regulation:

- 0,15 kg CO2/kWh the average emission factor for fuel in households

In the case of the use of solar heat receivers for domestic hot water preparation and heating support according to the Regulation the following was taken into account:

- Use of vacuum solar collectors
- The annual energy yield is 600 kWh/m2 year
- 40% of energy is used for heating support

Using heat pumps for heating buildings covers only the remaining heat energy needs. The annual coefficient of performance of heat pumps is 3.5. Height position in mansard types of houses is 80 cm. The roof is a gable roof with a slope of 35 °.

The calculations of the facade area took into account the storey height of 2,5 m. The calculated facade area is the area of the facade, which is the limit of heated rooms, minus the window area. The roof area calculations only take into account the area of the roof which is adjacent to heated rooms.

The ratio between the surface area of the facade and windows is set based on the requirements that are specified in the call of the ECO Sklad, for the co-financing of the EE measures. The calculations take into account the thermal conductivity of the insulating material which is 0.045 W/mK and is taken from the tender documentation of the ECO Sklad for co-financing of EE measures.

Increases due to solar radiation and internal sources are taken into account as well as deductions due to ventilation (air exchange is 0.5 h-1). The energy performance is 0,76. At the transmission loses calculations heating degree days of the project partner's regions were calculated.
At the calculation the heating degree days of 3053 Kday for Slovenia was calculated. For the rest of the regions the data were taken from the following sources:

When the user uses the application he/she has the option to insert surfaces for the building and modify values of thermal conductivity of the insulating material.
